Our client, a successful commercial real estate owner/developer with a highly respected brand, is looking for a Property Manager (Edmonton, AB). In this role, you will be responsible for the oversight of a high-value retail/mixed portfolio along with being part of the re/developments team. Working in an interdependent environment, your team is highly knowledgeable and possesses intelligent, business savvy professionals. Your new company offers you the ability to build upon your bench strengths and grow your skills towards elevated roles.
The Job You possess excellent communication skills along with an enterprising spirit and sophistication for creating and maintaining exceptional relationships with national and local tenants. Reporting to supportive leadership, you enjoy being accountable for the management of your properties, ensuring you are fulfilling the lease obligations. You apply strong and transparent controls that assist in optimizing operations, including “walking” your sites often to ensure quality efforts are in play that reduce risks to tenants and the public. Your reputation for doing so has been directly linked to positive tenant retention, successful TI management and positive operator, contractor and vendor relationships. These same behaviours lend themselves well when mentoring an APM or PA or when working closely with colleagues in the leasing and development areas, where you partner easily and communicate comfortably.
The Fit You are highly motivated, organized, self-aware and detailed, possessing strong written and verbal communication skills. A strong critical thinker with a high level of political acumen, you execute well and demonstrate thoughtful solutions to bothersome challenges. You are well acquainted with negotiating tenders and contracts and are capable at creating budgets and managing the financial drivers related to your portfolio. You like to form partnerships with your team and the leadership, each of who lean on you for your knowledge and believe in your ability to make solid recommendations and decisions. You are a walk the talk kind of person, following through and demonstrating integrity and reliability. You work well in a communicative and transparent environment that promotes mutual trust, team and whose culture recognizes and supports employee talent, growth and wellness.
